To answer a few questions...yes, that is my older son in the pictures. Yes, we did find deer tracks all over the place (and even one "bear track" that my son drew in the dirt and tried to convince me was made by a bear- lol), and yes that creek is on our property, although we cannot see it from our house...we have to walk down the trail in our woods to get to it. Most of the creek was completely dried up, this was just one section that actually had a little water in it yesterday.
I'm 33 and have been married since 1997. We have 2 sons, an 8-yr-old and a 4-year-old. I work full time outside the home. We live on 10 wooded acres where we can walk outside naked and noone would know the difference, and we wouldn't have it any other way.

You know, it is still beautiful even as dried up as it is. How wonderful that it is in your own back yard. Did he find any tracks?
My WW is up!
Oh, we have one even MORE dried up than that! Ours has NO water in it! We're supposed to get some rain this week though --- I hope!
I hear ya on the rain. I pray you guys get some.
I'm sure he has to enjoy finding all sorts of things in that creek. And deer tracks? BTW, handsome young man you've got there.
We need the rain too! I think it has not rained for over a month here... cracks have developed in spots spots in our backyard!
We desperately need rain in VA, too. The last time it really rained (more than a trace) was back in June--when our basement flooded.
It's really dry around here too. As bad as it may sound, I'm kind of hoping we get some rain from the remnants of the hurricane.
My WW is up http://beckie-photoblog.blogspot.com
Oh, we are lacking some rain as well but don't have a creek in our backyard!! very pretty. Happy WW!
Ya, I agree. We need more rains here too! It's a shame some areas are flooding and OUR areas are drying up.
Cute, cute photo of the deer tracker!!
Thanks for the visit today at my W W
Yes it really is dried up but it still is beautiful. Pretty cool pictures. Is that your son?
Mine's up too.

Wow your own creek?
This city kid is impressed.
Thanks for swinging by my WW.
Take care,
Frances
How cool is that to have in your backyard? Love it!
We had a gusher last night...I would have been happy to have sent it your way, but you would have had to take the severe lighting and thunder too!! ;)
Cute youngun' you have, did he find a deer?
Looks like you have a pretty neat back yard. The kind of backyard every little boy loves!
Nice photos,
Is that a giant beaver dam in the first one?
In perspective to the size of your son, that pile is very big! I can imagine the deeper creek water.
Thanks,
I could wish you some of our Seattle rain! I could do without it! Moving here from southern California, the rain is gonna take some getting used to!
We finally got some rain yesterday but we need more. You've got a cute lil' Daniel Boone ;~)
LOVE IT!! I won't show Joe-- it'll just bring up what we wanted from our first place, LOL! ;) But-- the perk, at least you have some water still... ;)
yes you do need rain! we got hit with a few good storms this week... maybe they're coming your way?!?!?!?!
i could never live near a creek though.. afraid my boys would drown as they are not afraid of water!
It's still beautiful. Wish I were there. I'll try and sent some rain your way. Happy WW! Mine's up too.
We've had so much rain here during our "monsoon" season. I always think that's funny since we live in a desert. The rain has finally subsided.
Anyway... cool pic and cute little boy.
So wonderful to have all that open space...hope you get some rain soon!
My kids would love to have something like that on our property. Thanks for sharing and for stopping by.
Cute pictures. Hope you get some rain soon. We had it all last weekend so we're hoping for sun this weekend. :)
Take care!!
Those are beautiful pics!
